- Game History: Moves played, game outcomes, ratings (ELO), and puzzle progress.
- Device Information: Device model, operating system, and unique device identifiers for analytics and bug tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Core Functionality: To facilitate multiplayer matches, track your rating, and sync your progress across devices.
- Matchmaking: To pair you with opponents of similar skill based on your ELO rating.
- Fair Play: To analyze games for cheating or engine assistance (using Stockfish analysis).
- Communication: To send you updates, security alerts, and support messages.
3. Third-Party Services
We leverage trusted third-party services to operate the App:
- Google Firebase: Used for authentication, database storage (Firestore), and analytics. Firebase’s privacy practices are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Stockfish: We run local instances of the Stockfish engine for analysis. No game data is sent to external Stockfish servers; analysis happens on your device or our secure backend.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us or using the “Delete Account” option within the App settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed from our active databases, though some anonymized game history may stay for public record.

We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption and secure authentication protocols, to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Children’s Privacy
Chessmate is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
